Following steps is to be followed.
STEP 1 :
- Prepare your document :
Requirements :
- Temporary Resident document from Concerned Ward, (For Jurisdiction)
- Unmarried Certificate from your Concerned Ward,
- Citizenship of Bride and Groom,
- 5/5 Passport Size Photographs,
- 3 generation details of the Bride and Groom,
- Identify your Permanent Residence,
- Identify your Temporary Residence,
- Lastly, you will be required two witnesses and their Original Citizenship Certificate.
Note – The Bride and Groom will have to further disclose few information :
- Whether they are unmarried / divorced,
- Age of Consent,
- Marriage not due to Fraudulent means,
- Both weren't married to each-other before,
- Both were resident of the Concerned Ward,
- Legal age of Marriage.
STEP 2
2. Application to Prepare :
All the document is to be prepared in Nepali language & the application must be printed in Nepali Paper.
Documents :
i. Marriage Registration Application (मुलुकी देवानी संहिता, २०७४ को दफा ७७ बमोजिमको विवाह दर्ता निवेदन)
ii. Consent Form (मंजुरीनामा फाराम)
STEP 3
3. Visit Court :
After Preparing all the documents, You are required to visit the court for obtaining a Marriage Registration Certificate.
i. The document is to be verified by Concerned Department at the District Court,
ii. You will be asked to be seated after verification and paying Government Revenue i.e., Nrs. 500/-,
iii. You will be asked to accompany the person handling the documents to the Bench where the documents would be further scrutinize by the Judge,
iv. You must have your witnesses with you along with your and their original Citizenship,
v. After Cross-examining the documents, you will be required to sign in the Record-keeping Registration Book used by the Concerned Court,
vi. Lastly, you will be given your marriage registration Certificate from the Same Department where initial scrutiny was conducted.
Congratulations on obtaining your marriage registration Certificate. If you are seeking to go abroad, you can also Translate the Document in English. Further, you can make Relationship document identifying oneself as Husband and Wife from the Groom's Concerned Ward.
